Misc Vs Other

Post  TurboNinja on Thu 7 May - 15:26

I frequently report the posts of users who do not follow the rules. I do this to help this site to thrive.

However, when I do I often notice that I am given the option to report posts for both 'other' and 'misc'. When I see this I ask myself "what is the difference between these two options? Why do they co-exist together rather than gouging out one another's eyes and raping each other's families?".

So tell me: what is the difference between 'misc' and 'other'. When should I use one and when should I use the other?

You could use 'Misc' if you believe that the post is a particular breech of the rules and that specific rule is not there, contrary to that, you can use 'Other' if you believe that the post does not break any of the rules however should be considered a breech of the rules - and an explanation will be required.
